This paper studies the final statements (“golden minutes”) of televised electoral debates in Spain between 1993 and 2019. The methodology is adjusted to the cognitive analysis of discourse, analyzing three pragmatic indicators that could reveal an evolution in three stages of Spanish politics: the bipartisan phase (1993-2011), an adjustment phase (2011-2015) and a multiparty phase (2015- 2019). The discursive spaces dependent on the predicative strategy, the predominant illocutionary force, and the use of superstructures are analyzed. The aim of the article is to conduct a semantic analysis of Polish interjections. The collected data consist of words (200 forms), which were qualified as an interjecion in the National Corpus of Polish and in the Uniwersalny słownik języka polskiego. The article consists of four chapters. The first part provides a short introduction to the subject matter related to interjections and includes a short summary of the views and opinions concerning their semantic structure. A cognitive-based approach to President Obama’s educational discourse through the lens of his State of the Union Addresses (2009-2016)

In order to gain a cultural understanding of the discourse on education used by President Obama, this article examines the source domains commonly used to refer to education in his State of the Union Addresses, from the time he took office in 2009 to 2016 when he will leave office. The study will proceed by applying insights from Conceptual Metaphor Theory (CMT), within the field of cognitive linguistics, supplemented by the Metaphor Identification Procedure (MIP) developed by the Pragglejazz Group.
